Primera Plod
Nissan is pushing hard at the police sector with the launch of a new Primera police car at the National Association of Police Fleet Managers (NAPFM) Conference this week.
The police car is available in all three new Primera body styles – four-door, five-door and estate. Two five-door Primera SE police cars were unveiled at the NAPFM Conference, a 126bhp 2.2-litre diesel version and a 140bhp 2.0-litre petrol model, while a police version of the 116bhp 1.8 petrol engine is also available.
Conversion specialists Woodway Engineering of Coventry have equipped them to meet Home Office framework criteria, fitting a clear tone police radio, Edge LFL strobe light bar, switch panels, siren system and all necessary cabling and controls.
Nissan began supplying vehicles to police forces in 1998. It now provides 28 of the 52 UK forces with marked and unmarked cars, including 4x4 Terranos and the previous model Primera.
