In order to increase the product review section in the speeding section of the site, could users of detectors please let me know what models you're using.

Thanks,
Ted

Only just seen this! Valentine One. Picks up which GATSOs are live and goes mental if a hand held radar gun is pointed at it. Cost somehwere just south of £600 and worth every damn penny, twice.

Also goes nuts in Tesco's and near petrol stations. Apparently there is some fuzzy logic setting you can use to screen the irrelevant signals out but can't be bothered to read the handbook.

I use a Bell Euro 550, cost £380. Had it for about a year.

Picks up roadside fixed GATSO very early, plenty of time to react. Not yet had a handheld Radar or Laser device trained on me so can't comment on its performance.

My only gripe (same as the Valentine One user) is that it responds to the security devices used by some Petrol stations. It does however display the frequency detected so you soon learn.

Definately recommended, but this is the first detector I have owned so have nothing to judge it by.

Snooper 7151s.

Same comments at the previous ones - goes bonkers at some shops, petrol stations and traffic lights. Picks up most gatsos (just the live ones, presumably) and haven't had the pleasure of a hadheld radar/laser yet.

Costs £155.

I use a Snooper SD815iS, seems to work well, tested it against plod using laser on Sunday, it went absolutely ballistic, also good for the gantry Gatso's on the M25... I'd recommend it although there is no substitute for good eyesight....

Using a Valentine 1 in conjunction with a Geodesy Plus. The Valentine gives good clear warnings of just about every type of speed trap with a fair amount of advance notification and in all directions. I do get the odd false alarm and it does get very excited about petrol stations generally. I'd rather be safe than sorry however so that's not a problem - even a petrol station could be a hazard with slow cars joining the carriageway etc.

Snooper S5, had it about 2 months, seems to work well, always warns of Gatsos to varying degrees, laser and not too much falsing.
