Wow. New level of stupid. I was at least expecting a duel carriage way of some sort.

That is mad. What sort of idiot firstly drives at 150mph, and secondly has somebody filming to put on Snapchat.

I was surprised to see a Clio on an A-road, I'm surprised even a RenaultSport can get to 150. I was expecting some sort of Audi on a Motorway.

A long way from a dual carriageway up there. Looks like the Dornoch Bridge.
No MOT or tax either apparently. Probably the least of her worries.

A moderator of a car specific FB group posted a video of himself driving at 170mph. No mention of a track day, right hand drive/obvious left hand road, and you could see oncoming traffic (vans etc.) in frame! This was posted during lockdown.

I called out the poser and was immediately shot down by various members stating that I was obviously a Prius driver, a pussy, or I must drive a granny. After all, who doesn’t buy their cars to go fast? Any attempt to highlight that this level of thinking is fine in relation to a track, but not on public roads, went completely over their heads. I was shocked.

Left the group; plenty of other more sensible car-specific groups around ...

The Scottish administration are well known for their laissez-faire* attitude to adhering to speed limits...

*My French is a little rusty, laissez-faire means "strict to the point of buggering offenders with a pointy stick", right?

Unless I was clicking on the wrong link, the fact you think you know where they are is testament to your vision. Not even the subtitles could help me understand the commentary of the male occupant nerd

I’ve been in many cars where achieving 150mph+ has been done in a matter of seconds and was absolutely no big deal.

Maybe it’s because I live in a less populated area of the UK with a lot less traffic, but having a quick 150mph blast for a few seconds here and there is relatively commonplace amongst the people who own cars easily capable of it.

You would be really silly to record it on video though.

So has she been caught because the video was uploaded to facebook/snapchat or because someone on the road reported her?

Before selling my Evora I cleared the memory on the satnav. While doing so I found a trip memory function I didn’t know it had, and a load of trip records from the first owner. Every single one had a peak speed above 120mph.

Every. Single. One.

The jammy git.

Trying to see what model Renault it is. Dials look exact same as my r26. With a bit of tuning that will show an indicated 165 given the right opportunities. Youd have to be properly thick to film yourself doing it though.

If you have a car where 150mph can be achieved in a few seconds, a quick squirt to 150mph is more likely to be over and done with without anyone else seeing (or being caught out if you mess up).
The video was shot in a Renault Clio, and lord knows how long she had her foot buried in the carpet to hit that 145mph peak, hence why she passed so many people in the process and some went to the police.

Your car's 150mph squirt might be better compared to a 90mph squirt in her Clio.

Nope ,the start of that bridge is a roundabout so she didn’t have a run up to it!

No I think whoever uploaded this video uploaded a little too much information online. The man was charged too.

No expert on Clio but I believe this is the type of car in question.
Doubt you could do 150 near Eilan Donan castle !!

From what I read he was being charged with Coronavirus related offences, obviously they couldn't find anything else to stick on him 😁
