If one was a pedestrian walking down the street and saw one of these, could one be prosecuted for accidentally stumbling into it because you weren't looking where you were going and cause it to point in the wrong direction?

Wouldn't provide much respite though, as I'm sure these would be used like mobile GATSOs - ie. manned and supervised.

Worrying. Thought these things were only on the continent. Blows out the window "Saftey Camera". Should be "Sh@fted Camera"
If you were to fall over it, could you sue?

I was thinking more along the lines of a traffic officer (or civilian, for that matter) hiding in the bushes, but your idea had merit.
Perhaps Kenny Baker could make a side-step career move and man the first one?

Why is the bin not painted yellow? It seems to me that this cannot be operated in accordance with the guidelines at all so I think it should be.......binned (I know its pathetic, I groaned as well).

Compulsary Action.

Tow said bin at at least a 1** mph behind the car and see what whacky objects you can get photos of.

The odd lampost photo'd with a speed reading of 120 etc.

I'd love to see the looks on the relevant faces when they developed the film.

Oh well. There goes the neighbourhood. First batch of motorists to get caught by this, get fake plates made up. Wanna bet? I might consider it.

So we go from being persecuted motorists to real criminals because of a wheely bin? jesus. What will they do next?

They've used these for a while in Germany and Holland, and of course only on bin day!!!!
So what a pity, people started opening them and putting their smelly gooey recycling stinky rubbish into it..... Oh dear how un-green!!!! Gets rid of the things very fast though!!!

I think this is a disgrace! It seems to prove the rule that the only people who get done by the law are the ones who stick to it 99% of the time. If only these natural fibre wearing types that support all this rubbish would come out in to the real world for a second, they would see that a mere 1/2 a percent of road accidents are caused by people driving to fast.
KILL THE DO-GOODERS, NOT YOUR SPEED!
