Mmmmnn if the tyre/petrol was used then there would surely be nothing to worry about of course it could be innocent, I mean we all walk round with a tyre and a can of gas don't we.....well don't we?

shurely if you then put the tyre round the gatso and do the decent thing and burn it - you destroy the evidence ? - seems the safest course of action ?

No, my preferred method would be expanding aerosol foam sealant. The polystyrene stuff. Apparently 1 can fills an entire gatso unit. But this is only hearsay...

Expanding Adhesive Foam. Builders use it to fill the cavities in walls around windows to stop drafts etc, Half a can will do all round a full length window, so imagine what a full can would do to a gatso!

Wear gloves though 'cos it's a real pain in the arse to get off your hands, particularly when it chases you!

I've often wondered what effect those laser pointer things would have on the digital cameras like SPECS?

I would have thought that it should at least burn out the CCD.

I think the best thing to do to them is to knock them only slightly with something large. Just knock them out of alignment a tiny amout, not enough to make it obvious that there is something wrong but enough to knock out its calibration so it couldnt photograph accurately. Not as satisfying I know, but it would probably take them longer to work out what was going on.
