Hello everyone,

I was joining an A Road today it was pretty blocked up with traffic not really going any faster than 20-30 mph as I just joined I put my right indicator on to merge into the middle lane , I see a car in my right hand wing mirror far back enough for me to merge but as I done this he decides to speed up and hold the horn down and hurtle abuse at me I couldn’t get into the lane because of this he then pulled up at the side of me and we had a little heated chat haha! Then he called me a C**** and went to pull off into the far right hand lane and hit the car in front of him, my lane moved I drove of, feel like I should have stopped now though but i wasn’t involved and thought it would just end up being a useless argument / brawl when I wasn’t actually involved?

Your thoughts gentlemen?

Thanks for reading

You should really have stopped. Do you have the registration numbers of the cars involved?

Sounds like it’s clearcut his fault if he drove into the car in front of him, so no need for you as a witness. Also sounds like maybe he’s a bit of an angry twit and this might be a lesson for him. I think I would have driven on laughing....

First post on the internet ? , or his first post on PH more like.

Either way you’ve made yourself look a bit silly with that retort, with any luck it might have been your last post on PH if not the internet .

This place astounds me at times.

I wouldn't have stopped either. Guy sounds like a meathead and it's too nice a day to be dealing with idiots.

It doesn’t really matter if you believe him or not, unless you get some strange thrill out of bullying someone that you don’t know. Just ignore him op, he’s was obviously forcefully entered as a child and has been trying to make up for it since.

You were right not to stop and get involved. The other driver was angry before he hit the car in front of him; just think of the raging resentment he would have unleashed on you had you stopped; particularly if you'd stopped and told the innocent driver how the driver that hit him had previously been driving like an idiot, spreading road rage all around, before he crashed into the back of him!

As a traffic officer once said to me... "It's all about discipline. Don't get involved in road rage. Just drive away. there are some very unpleasant people out there who you really wouldn't want to know".

So you misjudged the distance and pulled out into the path of a car forcing him to brake hard to avoid you. Then you sat in your car exchanged greetings but compounded the matter by shouting abuse instead of holding a hand up and saying sorry. You didn't try to move back into the middle lane because, why should YOU back down.

No doubt feeling safe in your metal box you continued the exchange. The other driver then in a fit of rage because of your behaviour didn't drive with care and bumped the car in front of him, which wouldn't have happened had you not continued to pull out on him and fail to give way.

1. Let's hope someone didn't get you on a cam.
2. You were both tts.
3. If you had stopped he'd probably have given you a beating.
4. Learn from your mistake because the next one you do it to might hunt you down.

Some dheads are ok most of the time, just being a bit daft from time to time. Some are idiots all the time.

That's not the version of events as described by the OP. You weren't there so how can I believe you? Perhaps you were the other driver?
