coming up to Silverstone near the Green Man on the A43, i slowed to 60mph knowing the cameras are there. I was flashed by the camera. This is dual carriageway with NSL applying. Is it possible that the powers that be have forgotten to re-calibrate the cameras after the recent 40mph limit through roadworks?
If not what do I do? And has anyone else been caught like this? I'm angry because I now have to wait to see if the postie brings a letter, and I can't prove my speed.
Any advice?

If it's local, go back and take some photos (showing the date) demonstrating the lower limit is no longer applicable.

Even though you were flashed it's still quite unlikely you'll get a notice as most of the are just deterants or have ran out of film anyway.

Sorry to rub salt in your wounds, but I've been along there, both ways, on two occasions since the bypass opened on Wednesday, doing 60-65 and I wasn't flashed. My daughter came from Oxford towards Silverstone on Friday night, similar speed ,no flash. Seems you have a 14 day wait, sorry.

I've just been out and video'd the stretch of road near the Green Man (I got some funny looks from passing drivers). It is clearly marked as NSL. I did have a passenger yesterday who can speak up for me. Is it possible that something else has triggered the camera. I was definately only doing 60mph. My worry is that because I was driving my Caterham, I may be regarded as some sort of speed-obsessed nutter, instead of the calm, placid and careful driver that I really am!!!!!

If they run out of film due to all the speeders then it ain't much of a deterrant. No news there I guess..

In that case don't worry about it. Either it's set wrong or it was another car, but either way the "tell tail" white lines on the road will show your speed to be 60. If it's signposted as NSL then you'll be fine - just ask for the photos if you get something in the post.

Although I think you should take some "normal" photos of the area - some digital photos/cameras aren't technically admissable in court I think.
