As some of you will recall I copped myself a three pointer recently. Grrr.

Anyway. I duly sent off my licence to the North Wales Police in late August and they haven't yet returned it. They cashed the effin' cheque, though (!) on 4th September...

Anyone know how long I should leave it before starting to call to find out where it is?

You should call pretty pronto. I got mine back almost by return of post - although that was a few years ago. Bear in mind that if you geta producer from the police, you only have 5 days in which to produce.

It all varies. With many, if you pay by cheque, everything goes on hold till the cheque clears, (it's surprising just how often the cheque bounces) then it should be done in 7 days.

There can be no extra penalty imposed, so hassle them. As a rough rule of thumb, the more you phone the quicker they act.

(BTW - where the cheque bounces, cops get informed that the offer wasn't accepted, and a summons follows, so not even as if they hold off to give you a second chance.)

They always tell you to allow 28 days , remember these guys are never in a rush about anything once they've got your cash.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that the 30 and the 60 was the speed limit which you where breaking! But I have yet to see an SP 70 so that kinda blows that idea!
