A fella at my work bought one of those books written by a ex traffic plod. It is full of both common sense stuff to a bit of inside info on procedural stuff. It might be worth a look, but it's difficult to say if it worth the money..

You should have read it Chris, before doing 79.1mph in 30 limit....

Being careful is the only way not to get caught, but we all take a risk. I got zapped by a Gatso in Bristol last year and I still can't believe I was stupid enough to miss the Camera. Mind you I was only 9mph over the limit, which is a lot less than 49mph!!

You were very, very lucky to get away without a ban mate.

Now now, Flasher... there but for the grace of god goes you and many others of us...

My father-in-law bought a copy of the one they sell in the back of the newspapers.. Drivers Survival Guide or something... 10 quid.

Production values are low, but type is easily legible. Don't expect flashy cover and colour photos/diagrams. The advice is very good. Probably not as much use to us diehard know-all PHers as it would be to most of the motoring population, but I was quietly impressed with what I saw.

I did read it! The only problem is that there is a two mile long hill at the end of my road that is bordered by a golf course on one side and has just one road coming from the other side. plus I was late cos the kids would not get dressed and , hang on if I am totally honest the PanEuropean will acelerate from 30mph to well at least 80mph in third with justa little extra throttle and it feels soooo goooood to do it. Terrible really, I despise myself!
