...the hour long programme on BBC 1 last night about police pursuits (might have been Scotland only).

In general, police came across reasonably well, particuarly when you see the kind of scrotes that they've got to deal with day in, day out.

One minor niggle though was the Highland coppers that pulled over a motorist doing circa 80mph on a 60mph carriageway. Not questioning the pull, but some of the comments made by the driver just made me think: 'tosser' ie. "He's on his way to his wedding - good thing he's not on his way to his funeral. a) Not funny, and b) patronising. After all, who can honestly say that they've never done 80 on a 60, particularly in the Highlands? Doesn't make him Jesse James the outlaw (sorry outlaw - wasn't calling you a Jesse...!)

Mind you, the driver didn't make it easy on himself by claiming that he didn't know it was a 60mph limit:

Policeman: "Ah, you're from Glasgow. Do they have single carriageway roads there?"
Driver: "Um, yes"
Policeman: "And what's the limit on those roads?" Driver: "Um, 60"
Policeman: "Yes sir. And you didn't know the limit on this road was 60....?"
Policeman [to himself]: "F*uckwit"

Don't think so....it was the one where Lothian & Borders were chasing a Max (Min) Power Nova round a Council housing estate and the local scroates were playing chicken with the pursuit cars.

Full respect to the police drivers involved for maintaining a neutral stance - it must be so tempting to just give them a little 'wing' as you go past...

Yes, saw that last night. I also picked up on the policeman's comments about the poor guy they stopped. On his way to his wedding poor sod, as if he didn't have enough to worry about.

Thought the chase into Edinburgh & out again(rush hour), all the way up to Dundee was interesting. The guy was a complete nutter. Found it strange that they almost did a whistle-stop tour of some of the houses that I used to live in round Edinburgh.

I watched that programe too. I thought the bit with the guy on the A9 nicked for doing 80 in a 60 was totally out of context for the programe! The documentary was supposed to highlight the problems faced during high speed chases ..... what the fcuk was the point in showing an incedent that occurs thousands of times a day? It was only put in to keep the anti-speed loby passive! Typical BBC!

"Look speeding is a very bad thing. As socially unaceptable as drink driving"

What a load of bollox. It is the type of people that believe in this politicaly correct crap that think the little scrots that were involved in the types of pursuits shown only do it because they were not loved as children and come from deprived backgrounds. Hang the little twats up by their dicks. And then set fire to them!

It really gives me the hump ..... 'nough said!

So all this cop had to do was tool up and down the same stretch of road in his volvo, in his own word
"Why speed, when theres all this scenery to look at".
Would he not be better employed elswhere in the force?

That road looked IMHO easilly an 80+. I think what was worse, the 15 yr old in the hilux.

Hmmm, so police advice is to slow down and watch the scenery (presumably as opposed to speeding up and watching the road?).
