Toddling along the M4 in South Wales this morning, and the newly acquired Bell Euro 330 went beserk for a second. I've been driving along this stretch all week and have not been alerted yet.
Stamped my foot on the brake as there was no traffic around me, no sign of plod on approaching bridge or gatso. Quick question to those who've used the radar detectors longer than myself is, if you are clocked by a Laser gun, how long does the alert go off for. I know that it will go off for as long as the laser gun is pointing at me, but, does plod have to get a reading for an average amount of time, 5 sec for example?

i had a bel 830 (bought in the states) - i got hit by a trap on a bridge over the A3 near guildford. It went of around 5 times, so whether the lock was bad or i was picking up scatter from other cars i don't know. fact is, your likely to be nicked the moment it hits you with no time to slow down of course, theres always the snooper diffuser to get round that
oh, and it went of for about 2-3 secs (same length as the self-test).
(edited for dreadful speeelling!)
