The complainant objected that the advertisement was likely to encourage speeding and dangerous driving.

This would explain all the FWs around my way. They obviously are blind, so they have to drive faster cos it is all blurry. Now I understand. D'oh!

I think it would be best just to ban all sportscars and anything British. Oh by the way anyone want to buy my Morgan 4/4 (seriously)?

FFS - with the decine in British manufacturing shouldnt we please leave Rover / MG alone. What the hell have they done to offend people like this?

If anything can they please pick on foreign manufacturers and help our own! We need the jobs and targetting them when they say things like "driving at 60" isnt indicating that people should speed......

Or am I missing something here? I could have sworn that the NSL was 60!

Round them up, stick them in a field and bomb the barstewards!!!

Cheers,

Paul

Grrrr Grrrr Grrrrr

Typical. Another bloody example of how this government is commited to ruining every industry we have left. BLiar the incompetent seems to be completely hell bent on stopping domestic production of everything because we can import, and if we import everything he gets a rung up European political ladder.

Self serving wnaker.

Matt.

I offer that this GIT has a nice little old Rover 400 and he just hates the way that MG Rover are maxxing his beloved marque.

The only way he feels he can make them pay is to make complaints re their advertising.

How come the ASA (print) follow completely different guidelines to the ITC (television)?

How come the jobsworth hasn't complained about the new Ford Focus advert. Its got the new focus going sideways, and lots of wheelspin on some loose surfaces ..... looks to me like some 'dangerous speeding' going on there, and corrupting the normally law abiding majority to speed in the process

If MG did their ads on a track or an open space, then speeding cannot be used as an arguement, cos no limits apply. There are some seriously sad fwits out there you want to stop anyone, anywhere having any sort of fun at all - fkit, they'd ban breathing if they could their lives are so fing miserable.

Time for a dip in the pool! BYEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

I don't think this matters - I think MG must have asked their agency just to come up with dozens of adverts - the strategy being to keep getting them banned, hence creating maximum publicity for an advert that can't be withdraw because it's already pervasive in newspapers and magazines, then issue a new advert.

Job done.

As for mr Cardigan-Farquahart, well I reckon he works in the MG marketing office.

If an MG were on a company car list from which I had to choose, then it'd go on my shortlist (as set against the other Eurotedium to be had).

Would I spend that money out of my own pocket on an MG? Errmm.. No.

With attitudes like that this country doesn't deserve a motor industry.
