Yesterday Saturday 3rd August about 1330 hours, On the M4 Westbound between junctions 8/9 and 11. Large motorcyle in red and white, Black chap riding in red and white leathers.

Scenario was.

Me travelling at between 90 and 115mph on route to an urgent job. No blues on as they often cause more of a problem than they solve with traffic at that particular volume.

You, sneaking up behind me and sitting in lane 2, 50 yards behind in the nearside blind spot ( Not as blind as you thought).

I gave you the benefit of the doubt after you dropped off a little for a couple of miles but then the nearside overtake of the BMW cabriolet in lane 3 made me have to 'parle'. I did see it even though I was some 400 to 500 meters in front of you. That is why you were stopped just short of junction 11 and given the benefit of my two minute advice.

Good on you for taking it on the chin. It is not everyone that I speak to that tells me that "I feel like an Arse now."

You were not an Arse. You were just not thinking about the consequences of your actions mainly for yourself. 100mph inside overtakes are not a good Idea, regardless of how good you are.

However I stick by my final words. "If you want to live a long and happy life, without stacking up the points on your licence. DONT TAKE THE P*SS"

Cheers

Once followed a police T5 at a respectful distance up the M, along with two or three other motorists of a similar mind (after first having a good look to make sure none of them had yellow jackets and funny hats on ) didn't quite realise how quick in a straight line they were until then, still pulling away quickly at 130(kmh)

Of course I never went over 70mph, but was able to maintain a steady, if a little high, cruising speed whilst the bobby cleared the way, sped up, slowed for traffic, sped up(repeat as necessary)
Just had to watch out for people going back into lane 3 whilst still looking at the pwetty blue lights and not in their mirrors.

On reflection he probably knew what we were up to and had the call/tea break been cancelled I'm sure I would had my wrists slapped, fastest and most hassle free motorway journey yet though!

Good on yer for your attitude,

Dave

Fair dues madcop, it would be great if more of your brethern would display that sort of educational attitude, rather than here's your ticket and that's my quota for the month.
However with automated "safety" cameras leading the way in compiling the stats that you have to work from, I am not surprised that the officers powers to use their discretion is being eroded.
