Took a friend out for a blast last night, I was turning right from a side road, as I pulled past the island in the road and gave it a bit and got a little sideways, the black Peugeot that was coming the other way did a 3 point turn just behind us, I pulled into the next pub car park and he pulled up behind us, out jumps a copper, first thing he says was “That was clever”, then told me if I even do it again he’d have my car crushed, not wanting to argue I let him carry on, then he said seeing as its a TVR he’ll let me off, also said “next time make sure there’s no rozzers around first”. All national speed limit roads by the way.

He'd have your car crushed? What on earth gives him the right to say that, hes a public protector not a member of the Gambino family

Was there anyone in the car with him? Sounds like he was showing off.

Nice one!

He'd have had me shot then - turned the traction control off and got it TOTALLY SIDEWAYS (like 60deg to direction of travel) coming off a roundabout in the rain last night - no other cars around and just felt like it, only doing about 20 as well. Oh the joys of greasy roads!

Sounds like he was on his way home or something and being a prat. As soon as a copper looses it and starts making stupid comments you've got him and he has comprimised himself and his uniform. A close friend of mine got stopped in an M3 a few years ago by a plod who instantly lost the plot and opened the conversation with "Are you a complete arsehole?" response was "Why are you recruiting?" end result was fixed penalty 3 points. whoops

Were you by any chance around the Birmingham/Worcester area?

Was going down the M5 on Sunday night about ten pm. Pulled out of services and floored it 1,2,3 rd gear 4th gear carried on. Two cars ahead and none behind - at least while I was leaving the slip road.

Overtook the two cars and got up to about 130/140mph. But empty only two cars as far as the eye could see.

Anyway, car behind starts flashing its lights in the distance - with a regular beat - mmm better slow down, pull over into the middle lane having overtook the two cars. Slow down further and move into the slow lane lights still flashing.

Black Peugot pulls alongside and copper wave his finger vigorously at me. I gesticulate an apology and away he goes.

So.So. So. So. lucky. What a nice man. But then again it's the whole awareness thing. I knew what was on the road. In front. Behind. I know what my car is capable of. And I wasn't endangering anyone other than myself.

If he'd have stopped me then I'd have put my hands in the air. Paid the fine. Sold the Tuscan and spent 6 months catching taxis. I accept I was very bad and fundamentally believe in the rule of law.
