Luxury Kills

More money is to be spent on advertising in South Wales in an attempt to get drivers of luxury cars to slow down. The theory is that drivers of more comfortable cars are too complacement about their speed because of their luxurious surroundings.

Campaigns will run across local radio until October. Further adverts will appear on the back of buses and in leaflets that will be distributed by the "Safety" Camera Partnership at major shows and events.

This sounds like total crap to me. I chill in my luxobarge, and waft along generally at an agreeable pace. I let the reps fight it out in the outside lane, and frankly its beneath my dignity to behave in such an unseemly fashion.

Some of you guys & gals will probably recall an article (in EVO?) a few months back, in which the late, great wordsmith par excellence Russel Bulgin, lamented about '2nd gear Britain.'
As ever, it was uniquely incisive but RB was extolling the virtues of rolling through the metroplis at 4mph in the stress-busting womb that was (in this case) a Lexus SC430, by comparison with the hair pulling exercises of his 911 driving mate - stuck in 2ng gear whilst listening to Led Zep etc.
Luxo barges, IMHO, tend to imbue the occupants with a sense of supreme relaxation making a mockery of this particularly pitiful campaign.
Once again, the mean spirited commies at The Town Hall were clearly bored on a wet Tuesday afternoon, with nothing better to do than alienate and criminalize a few more innocent punters...Kill 'em all.
