I assume that provided a standard plate is used, that any vehicular projections must not prevent it being read at 20 paces by the BiB ?

Are there any restrictions that suggest it is illegal to prevent it being read from, say, 10ft elevation?

Only curious to see how the old representation of the law is interpreted with the event of the gatso.

Carl, its not height that matters but the angle of view. I do not know the legal position but the revenue generator takes the piccy from some distance away therefore the angle above horizontal is not very great. Any protusion that prevented the number plate from being visible at that angle is likely to upset the police as they would see this themselves, especially if the car/bike is parked and they walk past.

I went past one of those front facing Tru-Velo cash point machines the other day, this one had been twisted to face traffic coming the other way (i.e. was on the RHS of the road). Since mine is a left hand drive, and if I had had the roof on (a very big if, since it dont snow much around my way ) the picture would have just been roof, with no way to identify the driver, except if you could match by their hands, I guess.

Any idea what the BiB would allow on this one? Could I legimitamatly say I have no idea who was driving, since I cannot see in the picture?
