TruVelo blinder
Discussion
In Lincolnshire the other night at 11pm, I was a passenger when my girlfriend got flashed by a forward-facing camera. I shouted a warning, but she genuinely believed it was a 50 (not 40) zone. Not that she was doing under 50, mind...
The flash was so blinding, it felt like we'd been staring at a purple sun for the next ten minutes. Certainly an effective form of speed prevention – we had to stop the car 'cos we couldn't actually see safely enough to drive.
Now the NIP has arrived, and I believe in making life difficult for the cash collectors. There's no doubt about guilt etc, but is it worth writing to them to find out if the camera was working properly? If so, which bit of the NIP should she send back?
Cheers all.

AS happened in Germany and thus now all Gatsos are infra-red, A guy got flashed from the front and he deliberately mowed down the gatso destroying his car and the poor electronic thief. Result: he charged the state with errecting a road hazard (it caused the accident) and he got his car replaced, damages and "pain-money" for his "injuries". Why not do the same? obviously only with a big truck!!!!!
Excellent story. All I need now is to persuade the girlfriend to swap her MX-5 for a Scania.
Incidentally, was the German driver still prosecuted for speeding, or did he claim the blinding flash meant the camera was faulty? I guess the poor Gatso wasn't too healthy afterwards, at least.
