Hayling Speeders
The local paper in Hayling Island recently reported that police had all their speed detecting equipment recalled for use elsewhere in the county. So Hayling (with 3 schools, numerous playgroups and many old biddies) has no hand held equipment capable of speeders. There are also no cameras in the area.
Discussion
as a lotus elise sport 160 owning hayling island resident, I can say that the lack of speed detection on the island is not much of an attraction. Crossing the bridge onto the Island is like entering the F1 pit lane - if you're not contrained to kangerooing along at 15 mph because of the winding roads then you're stuck in a queue of traffic heading down to the seafront.
