it was by this industrial park, me and my mate were talking for like 10mins and we said lets go up to KFC, so we went and my m8 was on the other side of the road, and we went along ( being idiots ) side by side, wasnt intentional but the police came after us after a report came through on the cameras, and they said they are doing us for dangerous driving and suspected racing on a highway. They came my house the other night and showed me the evidence and i gotta go court. What would i be looking at my liscense taken away? and a ban its my first offence and i not been driving for 2 years yet, im awaiting the summons come through the post. I hear that can take like up to 5months!! im screwed. Will they only do me for one or the other dangerous driving, racing on a highway, no insurance or ALL THREE. cos if your found racing on a highway your insurance becomes void

Oh dear, you are truely stuffed then. Still, sounds a little suspicious to me - if it was that bad, they would have taken you to the police station there and then and charged you - possibly even done more.

Insurance question - no not done for no insurance. Ok, so you have broken the terms and conditions of the insurance. But you still had valid insurance at the time so therefore nothing that they can do.

Other than that - your stuffed - leave it for the trackdays.

Cheers,

Paul

None of the above offences are arrestable, so unless he attended at the Police station of his own free will there would be no way to force him there.

The thing is he knows that a term of his insurance is that he does not race on public roads, or something like that. If he has admitted racing, then he knows he would have had no cover at that time, hence being reported for having none. For example, a condition of insurance is that you hold a license. If you buy insurance but have no license you are uninsured, despite having a certificate (you also commit other offences..)

Get a solicitor. The summons can come anytime in the next 6 months, it can be a slow process. A solicitor will get all the evidence collected, talk to you about it, then try and confuse the bench (at least the do in criminal matters .) Can't say what you'll get for it, I'd be guessing, sorry.
