Anybody know what the Copper meant by Character Reference???

Basically when I was pulled over (see 100mph on a B road) the copper told me I'd need a character reference? Not sure what he meant,, and no one else I've spoken too knows either... does he mean a nice letter from a 'responsible person' (Priest etc) or dragging someone upto North Yorks with me when I go to court???

Any clues or experience apprecited.

Cheers.

Yup, that's probably it. Someone whom judges would consider a fine upstanding member of the community: teacher, MP, magistrate, etc., even a civil servant would probably do.

Thats about the mark. I had to do it years ago when I was in the Navy and two lads that worked for me beat the shit out of some poor sod I had to stand up in Crown Court as their divisional officer and say what fine upstanding servants of the crown they were, it actually stood for jack shit as they both got sent down for 12 months and thrown out.

For traffic offences try your boss, or just get a mate to put a dog collar on.
