I got pulled many years ago on the M1 in Yorkshire for about 70 - 72mph.
I was following a plod R Rover on an empty road at about 70 for a few miles he then slowed slightly (oldest trick in the book, I know!) I thought this to be stupid so I slowly overtook him, I got a roadside lecture - how dare you overtake a police car doing 70 blah, blah, blah... but didn't get any points or fine.
More recently I got nicked, 3 points & £40 fine for 85 on M1 by a following fascist.
On the other hand 3yrs ago I got pulled on NSL road after (unkowingly) leaving VolvoT5-Plod behind whilst overtaking a string of traffic, Plod asked me what speed I was doing I said about 70 - 80 he replied that I was talking a load of bo****ks and told me that I had been doing, in his opinion "at least 120" (more like 140!) but he only gave me a bollocking and a producer...Phew!(some Plod are OK!)
So I guess it all depends who pulls you and what sort of mood they're in.
