Cameras round my way (Thames Valley) appear to have a purpose made yellow reflective plate fixed to the front and back of the camera. It seems quite effective and they have also cut back trees that the cameras used to hide behind.

I reckon these plates just arent enough. The entire damned thing, post n'all should be bright ing yellow.

The reason I think they have done the plates is that from a distance they look like road work information signs.

Also, has anyone noticed how all square roadside signs are now offset on the poles? Thats to make 'em look like speed cameras I reckon.

Matt.

It's probably the same as the traffic lights I've seen down the A217 in Cheam, they crank them over so the buses don't keep wiping them off.

I've noticed the same thing as JSG, the ones I go past (admittedly this is also Thames Valley) simply have a reflective panel bolted to the rear. The ridiculous thing is that it actually makes it harder to spot in some places. Even though I knew the camera is there I couldn't see the thing until I was right on top of it! The bushes infront(behind) the camera definitely weren't helping.

I've seen a couple where the main pole is battleship grey, the arm is police box blue and the camera itself is canary yellow. Nearly had me swerving off the road....
