I was asking because there isn't one.

There's this...

I'll have him call and ask for an email address.
That's the national helpline. A call centre. Totally useless. Use this:

https://www.gov.uk/find-court-tribunal

Email the court. Do not email contactcrime@justice.gov.uk
Thank you. I'll pass that on. Much appreciated.

I'm incredulous that people with such important responsibilities absolutely, positively can't stop themselves from speeding. I just don't get it.

If I was on 9 points I'd be driving around like a pensioner, sticking to every limit. It would completely suck but I would accept that it is what it is because of the duty of care I have towards others I care about to ensure that I don't get banned.

For people to get totted up when they have such a heavy burden of responsibility just doesn't make sense. Either they are embellishing about their dependents (how much they need them to be able to drive), or they don't care enough about them to stop themselves. It has to be one of these things.

This isn't a Brake/Mumsnet opinion, it's just simple fact. I break most speed limits when driving, so I'm not saying I'm an angel by any means. I honestly just don't get it.
Neither do I. I made a similar point a few days ago and was called a prick.

That name calling was nothing to do with the point you were making at the time though, so don’t conflate the two hehe

Many thanks for all the helpful replies. Just to confirm, I did a speed awareness some time within the last 3 years so that option is not available to me.

I have engaged a brief and I hope they will help me put forward my case.

Worst case scenario I am walking/taxiing/bussing/training everywhere (for a minimum 6 months), which given the parlous state of public transport in this country, should qualify as exceptional hardship IMO.

Unless you have served a previous totting ban / been disqualified on a single occasion for more than 56 days in the last 3 years it will be a maximum of 6 months

Yes, badly worded again, was meant to mean it should be a max of 6 months if none of the above reasons for an extended ban apply

Very badly worded as the minimum ban is 6 months.

A driver is at risk of a ban longer than the minimum period, even for a first “totting up” ban, if there are multiple offences before the court.

Further, the circumstances of some offences may merit discretionary disqualification in excess of the mandatory minimum “totting up” period. The latest version of the sentencing guideline expressly refers to this.

Thanks for that, up to date and bang on as expected

Being a motoring enthusiast has nothing to do with speed. People on here will be enthusiasts for bubble cars, 50cc mopeds, classic cars that weigh 2 tonne and produce 12 bhp etc, etc.

I don't understand this assumption that being a motoring enthusiast means being into going fast. I'm not the least bit interested in supercars, by and large they bore me.
Agreed. Another example is the fact that while sports cars from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s are beautiful classics and legendary, their posters were on the wall of many car enthusiasts. They’re slower than dull mass market modern cars.

I think the same when I hear people need their driving licence for their job. If I was a professional driver I’d think twice about the standard of my driving so I wouldn’t lose my livelihood. And you’d expect professional drivers to be experts in their field, better than the average person.
