PSV/Coach driver hours rules
Discussion
I did that once, my school was going Alton Towers for the day, not sure how much they wanted parents to pay but I already had an AT yearly pass so mum just drove me there on the day and I get in for "free", I even got to jump the queues as they used to let pass holders skip to the front.
it did go down as a sick/unauthorised absence but oh well.

Same here.
Youngest daughter's school organised history trip to Berlin, 4 nights, about £500 but was about 5 years ago.
Decided to do it ourselves, wife, myself, son, daughter and daughters mate same number of nights, worked out £160 each for flights + hotel.
With food, drinks, transport, entry fees (visited the same places) it was approx. £300 each.
Plus added bonus of an afternoon at Classic-Remise

Have they always done that, or is it a more recent 'allowance' after going digital?
I believe its since digital tachos came inHave come to onbvious conclusion that some schools are just taking the mick. Local high school announced its trips for next year. Included is Barcelona; that Mr X and Miss Y have identified lots of interesting places to visit and are just about to undertake their 3rd scouting mission.
Yeah right.![rofl](/inc/images/rofl.gif)
Calm down at the back there, no smutty comments on visiting interesting places, please.

Wasn’t aware of that, seems shoddy. Pretty sure Plod would argue you were most definitely “driving” if they caught you phone in hand in a traffic queue!
Mine switches to 'Other work' when I'm in park and stationary, When I'm driving and stopped in traffic it stays in drive mode.Automatically changes to break when I turn the ignition off.

It’s a poorly organised trip, why try and squeeze in two parks hundreds of miles apart when they could have just overnighted at Alton and had two days there; I’d be inclined to ask for your deposit back on the grounds that they’ve changed what you’re paying them for. I appreciate though that your offspring may feel differently!
This. 5 hours in each park plus hours of travelling, Vs two proper days in one park. I know which I'd choose.Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
