A staggering amount of places around the world are absolutely smashing through their historic all time heat records every day at the moment.
"historic all time heat records" Lol

Records that only go back 160 (or whatever) years are an entirely pointless yardstick given the age of the planet. In fact such claims are pointless given the timeframe of just human life on the planet.

I shouldn’t have bitten. But let’s keep this thread casual and not pollute it with climate denial yeah?

If you disagree with the worlds scientists then go write a paper and get it published.

Bored to death by climate zealots and frankly right now I'd trade an island in the Indian Ocean for a couple of weeks of summer here yeah.

Agreed. We moan about the weather, not the validity of published scientists.

Another rubbish day here in East Lothian. Grey and wet for most of the day, but I took a ride into Edinburgh on my motorbike around 4.30pm and it was lovely (warm and sunny). When the sun is out it’s lovely but as soon as it’s cloudy the temperature really drops.

It's a shame we can't teleport back in time to the land of the Dinosaurs...a lovely temparate 27-40 degrees on the South coast would be a very welcome break just now! hehe
As long as you don't get eaten by a big lizard of course...thst could ruin your day.

Heating was on yesterday evening...FFS.

July, past the summer solstice, cloudy, rained a little, and it's fking cold. Not "not hot" it's actually fking cold. Almost went back for a jumper early

Just back from Greece where it was hot.

It’s, err, rather more refreshing back home….

I was in Turkey about 2-3 weeks ago, had an amazing holiday. 10 days, and I don't recall seeing a single cloud, it was both strange and magnificent.

Most mornings at around 9:30am it was about 34 degrees, getting up to about 38-40 later on.

I'm still having holiday blues since coming back, thinking "If I was there now, I'd be just coming back from lunch and going in the swimming pool".

May be going to Lisbon at the end of July. Can't bloody wait to get away from this horrible cloudy, overcast rubbish

It has gone way past the point of me remaining optimistic that summer is 'still on its way'
Even if it kicked in next week and stayed until August I'd feel short changed. What a total st show you are, 2024.

I have finally adjusted my definition of UK Summer to light and less persistent rain . It's just what we have now . What I always think is so strange , we live in Sussex 15 miles inland . If you get into France and drive 15 miles inland it will be great weather every time we do it . I am not talking 100's of miles South , I mean 20 mins away from the Port .
Happens every time .

We had way better summers before Brexit, makes you think, doesn't it?

In Germany currently, 13° and some cloud. The EU haven’t got any sun to share!

Hello from Chiang Mai in Thailand. After Bangkok it's a mere 33 degrees and lower humidity. You can actually sit outside hehe

We actually had the heating on again - admittedly our house is old and draughty but...
