What about the cost of servicing, MoT etc? For around £38 a month you can get 3 years of servicing, MoTs, full manufacturers warranty & RAC on the Skoda All-in plan, if your vehicle is eligable.

Servicing/mot on either car would be approx the samehttps://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/all-in-service-plan

Skoda always seems to be better for me but then they always seem to release new models so is the Karoq now EoL?
Skoda seem to have done quite a bit of twiddling with models which are just coming through now - they did make some tiny changes to Karoq but don't seem to be highlighting them. Obviously it'll be EoL at some point, but I haven't read of any suggestion of that. Skoda do have a similar size EV coming, Elroq.
We got Karoq as my wife wanted something same size as her old mk1 Tiguan. The fact that all the controls etc are just the same is a useful bonus! She looked at new Tiguan and it terrified her!
We have a 2018 Ateca - it is superb
2.0 petrol and complete with virtually every option from car play to heated windscreen (ex SEAT HQ car)
Auto but with paddles that work well - hustles down a country lane surprisingly well and takes 4 adults long distances in comfort. we don’t need it for the space day to day (and have a classic RR for load lugging) but we fully pack it for holidays and will drive to France in it later this year
We will drive it until it dies and then buy another

After the drive yesterday we preferred the Ateca BUT only maybe because it was a top specced Xperience and the Karoq was a lowly SE.2.0 petrol and complete with virtually every option from car play to heated windscreen (ex SEAT HQ car)

I did like the extra sized sat nav screen and its surround AND the readout between the dials....

I am pretty sure we have settled on the FR I saw yesterday. As we wanted, the 1.5 tsi dsg with electric towbar that wasnt on the ad, that is a must have. (Which is about £650 to install a reg one let alone an electric retractable)
I've had a Kia Sportage I bought with a tow bar, I never wanted it and took it off BUT I've had NOTHING but issues with it and its been in for about 5 warranty fixes on nosies and poor transmission, it was my fault and will learn, the stealership did say it was towed with a caravan but who knows what it's towed. Can you get a better deal on the identical VW T-Roc?
I am thinking the VW badge probably holds its value better than Seat or Skoda and you may get a more competitive PCP or lease even though it will be more expensive sticker price.
All the VW's we saw were £3/4k more than Atecas and Karoqs. Badge money.I am thinking the VW badge probably holds its value better than Seat or Skoda and you may get a more competitive PCP or lease even though it will be more expensive sticker price.

When we tested them - the back seats were better for adults in the Seat than the T-Roc - the nearer VW equivalent was the Tiguan at a lot more money...I am thinking the VW badge probably holds its value better than Seat or Skoda and you may get a more competitive PCP or lease even though it will be more expensive sticker price.
Something to do with proportions between boot and back seats...

Hi Sheeps. 99.99999999% (approx) of the time its going to be just the 2 of us in the Ateca.
I liked the seat position of the Ateca. Its spec was fine by me. A cpl of extra factory fit items not normally on the spec sheet BUT it was the electric tow bar that clinched it. The hassle of getting one to fit....nighmare.
Now if only feckin Motorway could sort their s
t out for collection!!!!
