They seem to average three pit manoeuvres a week. 140 mph chases through traffic must unnerve the populace smile

I was wondering if you’d managed to get to see the eclipse, as I remember you mentioned it in your trip down post.

Great writing and fantastic photos too: many thanks for letting us vicariously share your trip.

Must admit the bit that will stick in my mind is the ASP video - they seem to endanger more than the suspect, which can’t be right. I lived in Missouri a long time ago, and they weren’t that bad!

They occasionally make a mistake too

Great thread and glad I came across it after enjoying the first so much. They should announce these on the OH newsletter.

The first getaway video… that car will have a nice near side scrape after squeezing past the barrier to get clear of the trucks.

Just index "police pursuits" on YT and there are endless ASP videos. I used it a bit to check out some of the roads before I hit Arkansas;).......

Are you heading to the Ring as part of your Euro trip in September, if so when?
Would be great to buy you a beer and say thanks for the enjoyment that your trip reports have brought over the many years.

Absolutely:!...
Looks like Sept 16-20 right now and hotel confirmed but still finalizing this. I always stay at the same place in Nürburg ( Hotel am Tiergarten)..the Pistenklause restaurant is downstairs which is handy so no need to drive anywhere once back at the hotel. Just waiting for the 992 to be reassembled to make sure it is perfect. Some recalls and an oil leak that requires an engine out repair. Car barely run in, and not caused by any damage. Special tools had to be brough on from Germany to fix it. Expect it back daily soon but want to make sure it gets a good shakedown and not have a problem as it is going to Zell am See first for a Porsche event....

If those dates change pop a post up on here, I'll be there about a week later, arriving 27 Sept, leaving the following day.

Were you running the Panamera on your winter wheels? I seem to remember it had red rims. That GT3 RS is a fabulous looking car and the metallic red rims on it are just stunning. You have great taste in cars.

Definitely not for everyone...many dislike the red rims with is fair enough....
Europe trip was with the reds but I use the winters about six months of the year...see below in Monument Valley:

Genuinely did a double take at this photo. Looks like you parked in front of one of those backdrops they used in old films. Lovely, and great thread.

Hard to take a bad pic in Monument Valley. For all of the political upheavals the US still has some of the most stunning geography on earth.
