They should all now be ex-parrots.

Thing is not all the profiles are new, spotted a few that are 1-6 months old but have never posted before spamming.
I have seen first posts before which are obviously bot generated - suspect these are accounts being banked for later use.
Thing is, is far too easy to create a PH account. No captcha, no verify email before being allowed to log in, not even an "I'm not a bot" tickbox.
Exactly this, even just stick a Cloudflare check in front of it. Trivial from a tech perspective.

It's pretty shocking that even these easy 'wins' haven't been implemented.

There is an 'captcha' type test on new account generation. Nicely appropriate when I tried it. biggrin

I always find those excruciatingly irritating. Surely there's a better way?

Yes they are but less excruciating annoying than the hookers phone numbers, fingers crossed it stops these idiots.

They’re up early this morning.

Exceptional stamina these ladies have, I must say.

It's been three months since this thread started. Three fking months!

I'm surprised the mods even bother to remove them at this point. It must be as demoralising for them as it is irritating for us.

If the owners read threads they should know that the inaction, lack of feedback, total absence of a semblance of decency towards the users shows them to be what they are - rather unpleasant to find on the sole of your shoe on a warm day.

Away we go again. Sympathies to mods having to deal with this.

Brand new accounts again, with gibberish words and numbers. Worth checking all new accounts for this?

Looks like most of them use phone numbers, so for example, could you autoban an account that posts a thread title which contains a string of more than, says, six numbers?

Or can the captcha or similar be applied to starting a thread rather than just joining? Might be a little irritating for real humans, but it's not something that's happening constantly.

The bit that confuses me is how this spam is generating any return at all for doing it, there must be some margin in it as they keep doing it, but I'm really not seeing how it works in any practical sense

Maybe people phone from work, so it doesn't show on their own bills.
Only one person needs to phone and as long as people aid and abett them by reposting the phone numbers, they're on a winner.
