What do the 'current facilities in Surrey' consist of ?

Their grandly named 'European Development and Brand Centre' at Thruxton, was being tested this week, but unfortunately a delay is now inevitable. TVR are used to delays, so that will not be a problem, but Jones Brothers (by appointment to TVR) have red flagged the new building, because it may not be fully waterproof. Something wrong with the roof (not again). As it has been named European, the European Union in Brussels will have to be consulted about many kinds of building regulations, sub-regulations and treaties. They are too busy at present to deal with TVR, because their tariffs on Chinese battery cars are about to cause a huge rumpus. The EU had no expectation that the Chinese would retaliate, but the German car industry are in a flap and have explained to the EU how international commerce works.

These are the 'facilities' in Surrey.

wink

Three motor manufacturing entrepreneurs, about to embark on an impossible mission.
The three luminaries look so proud of the prototype/development car, which their company has produced
[Correction; discovering that they do not possess any car building knowledge, the automotive car manufacturing company paid Gordon Murray Automotive to build the car for them.]
That last part should have been a huge clue to them, that they were about to enter a dark tunnel with no way out for years ahead.

I think the 'showroom' is a glass fronted domestic garage, in Forest Green, or in that area.
Their marketing has been another dismal failure. Try searching onlne for the showroom location and there are no results.
Has the newish TVR Griffith been seen recently in that same showroom?

It’s not newish though.
It’s nigh on 10 years since this car was being designed and the one car produced.

It’s pointless discussing it now as it missed the boat, it’s also nigh on 10 years ago we were informed the relationship with the builder ended.

Who in there right mind would invest in that situation.
It was done and dusted years ago.
A failed concept.

Well, the accounts are due by the 30th so maybe, just maybe, there will be something in them to keep the deposit holders hanging on for another year?

Or, maybe not.

It’s fine. You can come on here and give your opinion. Sadly though lots of opinions on here are in fact criticisms of other posters rather than an opinion relating to TVR (or worse still, they relate to vegetables).

Unfortunately after re setting my password PH system failed to recognise it and after many attempts to sort this out via PH tech I’ve given up.

I only really come on PH these days to offer my limited TVR experience to others and seeing as most use other forums and many of the good friendly guys on here have left see no real point in it.
I personally feel these TVR pages have helped me and many others keep our TVR alive and the archives are still very useful as a source of information.

I removed my post as my comments are just as pointless as this thread.

I’m coming to the end of the road and selling my TVR fairly soon hopefully so I might still ask for advice on a few jobs outstanding on my car of which I’ll be eternally greatful to all contributors who have helped and offered technical support in the past.

I’ve felt for many years now this particular thread has been possibly more detrimental to TVR owners and the company alike and re hashing the same arguments time and again really poor form but there’s an easy answer to that, stay off this thread.

Enjoy your sloughing and talking about something that’s now clearly in the past.
I sincerely hope TVR survive and people can move onto a more positive position.

Al,

A much better posting .

I think this thread remains well for me in the hope however small TVR can somehow start producing cars again.

Came across an auction with a triple TVR offering.

What other forums have you found useful TVRwise, out of interest?

The grey one was in their May auction with a reserve of £20k. Reduced to £17k I notice for the next one (I think the bottom of the guide is the reserve).

Facebook.
More general traffic using that format which is not nearly as good as PH but the new generation of owners tend to use that to ask questions.
Often then PH is suggested to gain the archive of excellent knowledge which exists here.

The accounts have just been published for TVR Automotive LTD and TVR Electric Vehicles LTD.

I'm no accountant but it makes for grim reading.

Pretty much covers it.

From what I can gather here its tipped very much into the red.

Ouch. What’s the extra £9m of debt falling due? Repayment of a loan?

No - the loan would have shown in the accounts.
The implication is expenditure.

You’d have thought the expenditure would have assets to show for it or could it therefore be payment to directors for all the hard work :-)

I said "the implication" because all you can see on the balance sheet is a liability that has appeared in the year that is refected by a loss for the year.
A loss implies trading expenditure or similar, given that it has incurred a current liabilty,

I will go have a look at the rest of the accounts and report back
