...could be Toprak (if Keenan isn't smoking something), but it would need to be a factory spec bike. However, Ducati have to place Fermin somewhere so I'd imagine her will end up at Gresini.
Can't imagine anyone other than Honda taking a punt on him
It does seem like the obvious choice, but Mir says he wants to stay now???

Unless Honda have a reshuffle and dispatch Taka and move Mir over, I doubt Toprak would go to LCR, although that might be a better/friendlier environment to step into rather than the pressure from a factory who have the worst bike currently.
How much pressure does that really come with?

Toprak you're doing st

Yes the bikes st

Good point rofl

I think he would simply get judged against his peers and I suspect he could muscle some results out of it Vs Marini and Mir seems like a broken man these days.

It would also give Toprak a lot more testing opportunities than the other factories.

If (and it’s a huge if) Toprak does go to MotoGP it is simply to get a bit of experience of the paddock and to feed back to BMW what not to do when they’re building their MotoGP bike for him. He’d be signing a two year deal with whatever team with zero intention of extending it as he’ll be the first announced rider when BMW join the paddock.

If BMW aren’t joining then neither is Toprak IMO.

Toprak doesn't have any loyalty to BMW at all though, so can't see why he'd have any arrangement to stay with them
He's riding for them for handsome money, and as he did previously with other teams, he'll jump ship for a better opportunity
BMW may have an ok bike in WSBK, but they're not going to expect to have a competitive bike in GP straight away, and it'll take them a good while to play catch up with the established brands

Judging by what I've seen on Facebook Maverick is blaming Aprilia for his results

They've dropped the ball a few times as a team but not as many times as Maverick has!!

Maybe he will continue to paid handsomely by BMW whilst riding for another team in MotoGP. He isn’t going to get a top bike in MotoGP so why not gamble that BMW can produce one when the rules change and they enter the fray?

It’s just a thought, nothing behind it to substantiate it. I can’t see any reason to go and ride at the back of the grid.

Sounds like his time at Yamaha.

Yes, he wasn't entirely wrong about the Yamaha - and I suspect he will be the same at Aprilia - but my goodness he doesn't help himself.

It'll be the same at KTM.

I think we've seen proof already that the Aprilia is a bloody good bike, probably second only to the Ducati. I'm really intrigued how Martin and Bez go on it.

Most likely, and a bit of a sliding doors moment for Maverick, seeing as years ago he took more $$$ to stay on the Yamaha rather than take a pay cut to go to Ducati.

The Aprilia isn't a perfect bike but as Maverick and Aleix are 6th and 8th in the championship it could be worse. Admittedly, a situation masked by a classic Maverick peak in form around Portugal and COTA and thereafter...not so much...

A bloody good bike let down by the team some would say. Stuff like over heating at hot tracks, and sending Aleix out with the wrong engine map.

Mavericks issues are all in his head though. Relationship with his engineer is probably most important to get the best out of him.

Maverick looking decent again but will it stick?

Pecco looking fast and effortless, will be difficult to beat.

Marc and Jorge forcing a decent lap or two to go through but they don't look a patch on Pecco as it stands.

Acosta in 15th... Surprising.

Full factory kit as well according to the press release, with data sharing and same time updates likely. It's taken Yamaha long enough to cotton on to this, years after all the other factories, and it's been to their detriment.

Riders wise, who knows? Pramac are a well run team but the Yamaha isn't fast with Rins and Quatararo on it. Really expect that people going there will be going to do so for $$$ or they think that the updates will come quick enough. As such, Morbidelli on the Pramac Yamaha makes sense...unless either Franky doesn't fancy it or Yamaha don't fancy him.

Great news and a no brainer giving them full factory bikes to amass as much data as possible

Riders will be difficult, perhaps Raul Fernandez a good shout, but start the Moto2 team for next season with David Alonso signed up.

Surely a decent wodge sent Rins's way now?

Morbidelli out then to VR46 I guess.

But then who gets the 2025 bikes, two at one team or one each shared between Gresini & VR46.

I think Acosta got baulked on his last quick lap in FP2 which is a bit of a spew.

That was proper class from Pecco. Sets it when on one else on track and then just watches. Martin has been pretty dominant in the sprints so I think Pecco will do well to hang onto him for the sprint but looks good for the GP tomorrow.
