Very in line with modern BMWs. Nasty car that needs to lose 300 kg, not gain 170 bhp.

Swap the Premier League carpark white for something more subtle. Apart from that, all good. Would prefer to have one of these than drive about looking like a complete t*t in an SUV.
The M3 V8 engined 1M they did, complete with a Supercharger, still the best sounding project they have done. Looked great too.

It helped that the stock 1M is such a fabulous looking thing in the first place (at least to me), whereas the same can’t be said of the M3 (at least to me) smile

Not seen anything as childish since that 'slammed' Saxo I saw in a Max Power mag in some MOT waiting room back in the Nineties.........

Why bother at that sort of money?

It's not exactly a looker after all.

I'm sure taxis in Brighton used to have black bonnets. laugh

I'm not sure if I'd find 720bhp and 200mph boring, although I love going fast in straight lines though. So this is right up my street(well the equivalent M4 would be, because I don't care much for cars with 4 doors).

Charming, elegant, understated, and frankly timeless. hehe

I'm sure it's a hoot to drive, but bloody hell what an unpleasant thing.

The standard car is fast enough, if i had to spend 35k on one, i'd spend it on losing weight, getting the suspension bushes changed etc.

from watching Misha at the ring, almost no tuned cars hold up for a full lap of the Ring without dumping coolant etc all over the place

with an extra 200hp you might want some upgrades to the radiator, intercooler etc ?
I did wonder that myself. The article is somewhat dismissive of 'forged internals', implying they are old hat, however engine tuners of yore weren't putting them into racing units for fun. Improvements to the mechanical side were made, back then, to cope with increases in breathing, rotating speed and compression ratio. These 'tuner' cars will undergo similar enhancements - bar the latter as all induction seems forced, these days - ergo why wouldn't they also need mechanical improvements to compensate for the extra work demanded from their engines? They aren't magic, after all.

One wonders about the longevity of such things.
