I rage uninstalled it about 3 months ago due to the sudden increase in bugs.

Re-installed over the weekend and it ran ok, but with some random stuttering - based on posts above I thought I'd check the DirectX version last night and it wouldn't progress beyond the loading screen!

Just tried booting in safe mode now and I see there is a patch, so fingers crossed!

Does NYC still look like it’s the art of “I am Legend” with all the trees and greenery ?

Looks like that for me no matter what settings i have it on, I would love to know what machines some of these youtube videos i have watched are running with ultra realistic settings, I know there's mods to help improve things but some of them are almost lifelike.

I just can't wait for the PMDG 777 ... my favourite aircraft on P3D and it's hopefully a matter of weeks/months from release onto MSFS2020 now.
I swore I would not pay any more money to PMDG for stuff I've probably bought twice. But they are sicking me in..
... the time has finally come - and how much you ask?

I'll let you all find out: https://pmdg.com/pmdg-777-300er-for-microsoft-flig...biglaugh

And it's already been discounted too.

Still it is tax free so you are saving there.

Has anyone purchased the new PMDG 777 yet to say whether its worthwhile or not? Sometimes i feel the ones with the biggest hype are usually the ones that don't live up to it.

It's PMDG it's going to be good do you have any other PMDG products ? I have the 737-600 and 800 as I prefer short haul but if you are on the fence they will be releasing a cheaper model like they did with the 737. It's not a cut down version just a triple 7 variant that's not very popular in the real world.

Yeah i have the same 737-600 you have as i prefer the short haul flights as i don't have time for long haul, although i bought the LVFR A330 ages ago through the hype on YouTube and that was a disappointment considering the price point.

Edit - just saw you own the PMDG 737-600 - I'll still leave my post as is for others.

PMDG is the "Rockstar Games" of the aviation simworld, in both good and bad ways.

The bad... in the past, their products have been costly. In P3D the 777 was around £120+ around the launch - $77 was a big suprise but MSFS market is far larger. Like Rockstar they do have an ego but honestly, nothing comes close to the study-level immersion of their products.

If you are willing to learn how to fly a 777 as realistically as possible "inside a retail sim" you'll have no regrets - if your not interested in realistic flight models, toggling many simulated buttons, programming flight computers then avoid. Here's a video with commentary from a real 777 pilot using the PMDG 777 - it'll give you an idea of the product: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBZ00soJkeg

If you are undecided, you could try the Fenix Airbus which is very good value and will give you experience of a study-level aircraft before trying PMDG.

One thing I have read about on MSFS discord is that some users are experiencing crashes when they try to load a flight from simbrief into the 777 tablet, no doubt a bug that is being patched as we speak - there is a work around for now. Another reported gripe is the engine sound - but honestly, unless you know the exact sound signature of a GE90s on spool I wouldn't let it bother you... its like OCD level complaining.

Hope that helps.
