I do look back at these cars and think they're hideous, but at least they were a showcase of the talent it takes to build one.
Agreed, and considering the amount of money they spent on them they might as well have bought a decent car in the first place.

Imagine the amount of money you would lose on one back in the day if you wanted to sell it, assuming you could find someone to buy it.

That's largely still the case now with modifying cars. You rarely get back what you've spent.

It was a great scene back then and I love the enthusiasm and dedication people put into their projects.

Max Power, the one where they would cajole 16 year old girls to get their tits out in a car park on a Friday night. Not at all creepy.
Disgusting.

I wonder if you can still buy old copies on eBay or somewhere

Madness that the exterior is trimmed! “I’m my day we couldn’t wrap cars with plastic so we used dead cow”.
It's crazy!

But even now, all these years on you can still see the effort they put into it. It's not my thing, but I can see the quality of the work smile

Yeah but most of them probably looked about 36 given the location and demographics of those cruises.

And have you seen what goes on in most dark car parks these days? Max Power of today would just be full of shots of furious dogging going on.

Innocent times!

Me too smile I think it was a great era! It's crazy the amount of money some people would spend and what they'd get up to, I just loved the individuality of the bigger builds.. just when you'd thought you'd seen something you didn't think possible, someone would go one better!

I think it would have been a great achievement amongst the scene to get your car on the cover (especially the same car in several iterations) I did go to one of their events years ago and it was great seeing them all close up, and the enthusiasm everyone had.

I'm glad that the cars existed then and that some still survive smile I'm also glad that there have been reunion shows recently smile

The Scraplife boys are worth a watch, Lee has been building a hellcat swapped Dodge Ram. It looks utterly hilarious and just leaves rolling burnouts everywhere it goes.

Living in the US does have some perks, stuff like this must be awesome.

And asked them if they sucked cock and took it up the arse.

Hard to believe it was 'only' 25 years ago.

And do you play the pink oboe.

Those were the three I remember.

Which as a fairly naive 15/16yo I didn't really know what they were getting at biglaugh

That's true, both men and women can get their tits out in a car park now.

Am I missing an in joke? Both released at 1800, 2 orange cars, 2 yellow tops, 2 black caps worn back to front.

  • ones on 26k views and the other is exactly a tenth hehe

Just seen in my suggested that Chris' video has now done 1.1 million and his Temu part 2 500k!

Easily one of his best performing series, he must be pleased he took the gamble - some of the earlier vids weren't doing any better than his cheaper projects. Although personally it's had something missing and hasn't really grabbed me.
