2024/25 fixtures released.

Season runs from 17 August 2024 to 25 May 2025. 33 weekends, 4 midweek rounds of matches and 1 Bank Holiday Matchweek.

Arrangements will be made to allow more rest time over three of the festive match rounds, with no club playing within 60 hours of another match. There will be no fixture on 24 December 2024.

There is no mid-season break this season, to allow for a longer summer break. This takes into account expert advice from medical and technical departments, which values a longer period of complete rest in the summer rather than a short break in the winter.

The first tranche of TV picks are to be confirmed by 5th July.

Surprise surprise, Liverpool get the newly promoted team for their first game. What is that now, 5 or 6 years in a row?

That fixture was predicted by someone in the secret thread weeks ago too, wish I'd put a bet on it. Some people still think these things aren't rigged!

5 out of 6 of those first away games are tough, and the other one is Leicester's first game back, we are going to need be a lot more solid than we ended the season.

One in a row.

First game last season was against Chelsea.

And before that? I should have said 5 out of 6.

Munich don't play until the following weekend - maybe we could take Kane on loan for one game and add to his 18 goals hehe

Fixture scheduling isn't totally random - there are 2,036 matches to schedule across 4 leagues so that is a lot of variables involved by the time you've taken in to consideration feasible dates, sequences of home vs away, Christmas and New Year, police requests, travel aspects etc. etc. so probably not surprising that patterns can emerge.

What parameter goes in to make a pattern that Liverpool get a promoted side on the past 5 out of 6 seasons? rofl

Apparently we are envious and bitter for pointing out facts now, hi Adam byebye

I get the argument that whatever happens everyone has to play each other twice, but there is so much you can do to interrupt runs, or make teams seasons more difficult than others. I don't believe other teams are more favored than others in this, but you can see with VAR, Fixtures and other elements of oddness in the game right now the conspiracy theory folks are having a field day.

On the subject of fixtures though, with the Europa league expansion, wow, we're going to be busy. Going to feel the polar opposite of last season. Our squad was also paper thin with minimal fixtures and we still suffered from it and the outgoings list right now seems to be gaining size each day. I think we're already down about a million quid a week off of the wage bill with the outgoings.

So, should we expect a host of signings? Oh god not this again.

I think we are going to have a terrible season from that aspect of it. Great to have some European football, but this squad couldn't cope with a league season under Ange let alone having an additional competition to play in as well. I hope the scouting department can do a bit better this summer than just feeding off Juventus cast-offs.

Well it sounds like Olise is off to Bayern, and we really want Eze, can't see Palace wanting to lose them both though.

Pretty sure Palace will lose both, also pretty sure we wont pay what they want for Eze and he'll go somewhere else (and be brilliant).

If they cash in on both Eze and Olise in the one window they risk upsetting Glasner and the fans.

Some pretty suspect deals being sneaked under the radar today… barcodes selling two players for £60m, one of which has never even played for them, the other to another club making a mockery of the rules laugh

All this cheating is becoming ridiculous.

Yeah, noticed that Villa and Chelsea are trading players between themselves to try and get out of the financial jams they are in.

Even the BBC reported on it:
