"Drive" is not what Blashford Snell did in Darien. Quite shameful that central america is not yet connected together.
I believe that is for good reason! i.e. to make drug smuggling harder.
The fact the US has not yet had the lightbulb moment about drugs is a stty reason to keep central america dirt poor.
I think economic considerations would be the main reason in the past, but nowadays it would be environmental considerations.

I find it incredible that Donald Sutherland was never nominated for an Oscar, though he was awarded an honorary one in 2018.

I agree. It was an oddball decision.

Because keeping millions of people in grinding poverty is either equitable or good for the environment. I do wonder about environmental types sometimes, especially the middle class ones with comfortable lives.

Not sure if I’m just shocked at these two people were much younger than I thought or that people aged differently in the 80s.

Danny glover was too old and worn out in lethal weapon 1, but was just gone 40.

In Beverly Hills cop, the old crusty cop was….. 36 at the time of filming. I just assumed he wasn’t in Beverly Hills cop 3 as he had died. Turns out it was a schedule conflict and he will be in the 4th film.

I'm 46 and cannot get over the fact that Angela Lansbury was 46 in Bedknobs and Broomsticks and looked as old as my 92 year old Nan.

the thing is look at a lot of older films (and news reports) and the people on there just look older - now a lot of that is due to out of date fashions (both clothing and hairstyles), but I suspect that a lot is due to the fact that they had harder lives than (in the main) we do

Both Lethal Weapon characters were older than the actors playing them - Murtaugh was supposed to be 50 in the first film (Danny Glover was 40 at the time) and Riggs was 36 or 38 (Mel Gibson was 30 I think) so make-up wardrobe etc. played a part.

I've mentioned it on another forum but William Hartnell is a prime example - only 55 when he started playing Doctor Who. Same age as Peter Capaldi when he took over the role.

The USA spent 1 trillion in Afghanistan and still lost.

The USA is now paying 1 trillion interest a year on it debts.

Expecting to run out of cash in the next 20 years.

My mum and dad's wedding photo, they were married in their early 20's in the early 70's, my dad looked well into his 30's.

There is a photo of me being held by my dad, as a newborn, this was 1975, my dad would have been mid 20's, he doesn't look far off 40!

As well as fashion and hairstyles also we are generally much more into skin care also far less of us smoke, we are more aware of UV damage, I'm almost 50, I've moisturised my face since I was a teen, my dad would have never done this.

It is ironic though as the younger generation now do have these procedures which actually can make them look far older than they actually are, look at Love Island (the wife watches it! ) there are mid 20's girls on there that have had so much work already, they actually look at least a decade older.

He was deliberately playing someone much older.

I think Jack Haig (it is I, Leclerc !) was the original choice for Jones, although he was only seven years older than Clive.

I’m actually shocked the other way. I thought part of the joke was he was able to do really physical humour as he was late 20s when he was doing it.
