Unfortunately no Manta this year - appears it was lost to a garage fire

Owner is driving some sort of Cupra thing this year!

The best race of the year on the best track in the world.......What's not to like?

The weather forecast doesn't look settled.....so expect plenty of rain - and it's possible for stoppages through the night, as we've previously seen.

The fire was in 2022, and the car returned to the ring last year, despite Hindhaugh talking about it as if it was recent

Manta is in the Classics race (also on Youtube on the official Nurburgring channel) - qualifying for that in an hour and race on Saturday morning.

(That surely isn’t the same Dacia that got totally wrecked before? It was a liability then, and is likely to be a liability now).

Dacia is a different Dacia. With a 1.6 turbo Clio engine this time, so should be quicker than previous incarnations.

So far it’s about 30 seconds a lap quicker than they qualified last year

Still 3 minutes slower than the quick cars though

They were talking about this on the coverage; the closing speed is still massive, but in a 4-6 hour VLN/ NLS race it's manageable. It's rather different in the dark when visibility isn't great.......

Last time out, the Dacia was doing two laps in the time the leaders were doing three, its fastest lap was in the high 12’ range. The accident was when three cars in three different classes all converged on the same piece of track.

Double the permitted speed in a code 60. Naughty naughty boy.

Apparently he blasted through 6 marshal-posts that were under the code 60, the disqualification (according to Timing71) stated that he reached 145 km/h Unforgivable really, imagine if he'd hit a marshal or emergency vehicle. The live race chat made for interesting reading yesterday, some of his "fans" attempting to brush it off and saying that the penalty was too harsh

I do wonder if Bilstein will give him the boot now he's no longer eligible to race on the track where every race in the series takes place?

Just saw some double-Foxtail Manta action when the race Manta went past a fan replica in a field next to the track.
