We’re in Austria, a short, tight, fun circuit. Note it’s a Sprint weekend to all usual timings have gone to cock.

With such a short circuit, and McLaren very close to RB now, it should be a very close qualifying and race. Max has showed just how good he is recently, and I expect him to win again here, but not by much.

Poll is for the win, Alonso removed due to 2024 performance.

Date(s): Friday 28 June to Sunday 30 June 2024.

UK Broadcast Timings (and track time)

All sessions are live on Sky F1. Channel 4 is showing highlights of Qualifying and the Race.

Race weekends coming think and fast now! Thanks PiaP as always for the race threads.

Well this is a faster circuit than Barcelona, and the read litmus test of how the European season is likely to play out. There’s still a niggling feeling that MV is managing his pace out front, at least during the race, and he still has the advantage when he needs it.

Shame about the Sprint bks though.

The red bull is bad on kerbs and there are important exit kerbs to ride here at the first and last turns.

Thanks PiaP!

RB were not so bad on kerbs at Barcelona, so seemingly circuit specific perhaps. Qualifying Max may lose out, but I expect the RB to be dialled in to race strengths and a close race on a track that is strong for McLaren.

No mention of a waf....oops, almost! wink

Voted for Norris. Hopefully!!

Very difficult to call but I think Verstappen will edge it. It'll be interesting to see where Ferrari are after two lackluster weekends and whether Mercedes can continue their progress towards the front or the last two races were anomalies.

Stellar job as always piap.
Will we see lots of penalties for track limits?

I've gone Lando, he appears fired up and always goes well here.

If the Red Bull can't quite handle the kerbs then it will be Lando, that McLaren just rolls over them with ease.

Will be interesting to see how close the Mercs are too with that new wing.

Strips of gravel installed after last year's limits fiasco.

Good.

Apparently Max has 3 tenths of godly skill over the entire grid so should be an easy clean sweep for him this weekend.

Max vs both Mclaren's again this weekend, and at Silverstone I think. With overtaking being a bit easier here I think Norris might just nick a win this time

Thanks PiaP smile

Lando to nick it from Max 2 laps from the end....once a Logan dnf closes up the field by causing a safety car.

Thanks again PiaP. The Channel 4 highlight timings that you've given are wrong; qualifying is at Saturday 1830 & race Sunday 1830.

Thanks PIAP - busy few weeks for you!

I've gone for Norris but I'll settle for another close and interesting race.

Are grid penalties going to start to be an issue for Max given his consumption of parts? Particularly using all his engine allocation this early on.

They already said they expect to take one - I reckon possibly at Singapore so point loss is minimised or at Spa if they still think they will dominate.
