Discussion
There have been a few DCS threads on here. I play a lot, it's pretty much the only reason I own a decent PC these days. Mostly single player for me, and focussing on the Viper at the moment, but with one eye on the impending Mi-24 release.
The learning curve can be pretty steep, especially so if you are new to flight sims, and more so if you don't know your GBU-38 from a GBU-12. It is very TLA heavy, but there are some good youtube videos for each module, and Chuck's guides are worth a look as a quick-start aid to the aircraft.
What are you flying? Are you flying in VR?

I am flying the FC3 modules, which is good as the learning curve is a bit easier. Mainly before I invest too heavily in a high fidelity version.
I am due to get a quest 2 but want to make sure this is going to stick but been a long time flight sim fan.
Currently mostly flying the Migs - but the 29 was so hard to land sticking with the 27.
I can land ok with it, managed a few missions ok!
I guess its just the sheer amount of info to take in, a decent HOTAS is on list to as using a fairly cheap thrustmaster job.

Any views on the best high fidelity module to start with?
I got FC3 but sale is on just now!
Not a clue what I am doing tho
Id actually say the Hornet to be honest. I got FC3 but sale is on just now!

Lot to learn etc but it's relatively easy to fly, I guess it's a bit like driving a car with ESP ABS and all that makes it very forgiving to fly. Can't hurt to ask anyone with experience to fly with you and point you in the right direction
Been told the Tomcat is the opposite, a bit like driving an old 80s RWD turbo car in the wet on toyo R888's though

Yeah think need a bit of 1-1 tbh. Having said that I did manage a carrier landing on the FC3 training mission tonight after many attempts!Lot to learn etc but it's relatively easy to fly, I guess it's a bit like driving a car with ESP ABS and all that makes it very forgiving to fly. Anybody struggling with this great sim might want to pick a Yak-52 in the steam sale and watch these with a cold beer.

I'm big into DCS, got most the modules, Thrustmaster warthog stick and throttle, pedals, track ir and just ordered a PC mainly for this sim.
Hoping to give VR a try soon.
I'm mainly flying helos just now, Ka50, Mi8, Mi24 and the Gazelle. Been really enjoying the search and rescue multiplayer servers. I much prefer the cold war era of jets like the mirage, viggen, mig 21 etc as opposed to the F/A 18 and F16 but have them also.
