Cheers Dave I always liked the look of your car when it was black and ally, but with the use your car gets, it was inevitable that one day you'd have to paint it, or get it re-skinned.
I'm thinking of using some Armourfend on some of the vulnerable spots. Not too sure how it will look on the polished all though.
But to be honest, the car probably wont clock many miles a year.

It's both realy. A fellow called Geoff Moss made it for me.
I'm sure he'd make one for you. His out of date web site is here

Best to give him a call, as he's not very good at answering e-mails.
A really nice chap, but don't ecpect to rush a magician! He likes to have the car in the workshop, to make sure everything fits.

Hi Dave, Yes, I'm black packing it. It's just the body panels, nosecone, and wings that are all ally.
I'm trying to go for a modern car with a classic twist, if you know what I mean?
I'll be using a bit of carbon too.
Sounds like a bit of a mish mash doesn't it! But I have it all in my head.
I have a roadsport cage in black, carbon dash, stack, black aero filler, screen is black, as you have noticed. I'll use carbon tillets too.
And as you've seen from BC, I'm after some wheels with the 4 spoke design similar to the Lotus 49, but will be splits, so again, a bit more black, and a classic theme.
I think it should come out looking O.K. I've always liked the Black/Ally combination.
Not everyones cup of tea though, I know.

Finaly got the tub finished today. I lost the use of the garage for a year, so the chassis has been sitting in a trailer for nearly a year.
I can start putting some things on it now.
Got the cage and screen back on.
I think the hardest part of the whole job was getting the linishing markes out, where the side skins are welded, at the corner of the cockpit sill/wheelarch, and over the shock absorber turrets.
I must have flatted these back 3 or 4 times, only to find the marks still visible when it was polished up.
I had to flat the whole tub back with 3m Microfine pads, to get the grain out, before polishing with the Cyclo polisher, and three grades of Nuvite.
Still a bit of grain it it if you can get it in the right light, but I'll probably give it another once over, once it's all together.
Next job, I think I'll get the holes marked up in the rear wings.
Cheers,
Mick.
