2011 BMW 640i Convertible F12 N55 – Japanese Import – 65,000 Miles – Exceptional Specification, Professionally converted over to UK Spec.

For sale is my 2011 BMW 640i Convertible F12, powered by the excellent 3.0-litre N55 turbocharged straight-six. A genuine low-mileage example at just 65,000 miles, with an exceptionally high specification and a very comprehensive BMW service history.

The car is a Japanese import and comes with its original Japanese BMW service books, which are extensively stamped throughout. The service history has been translated/reviewed and provides excellent evidence of the car’s maintenance over the years. Since we have owned it, we have continued to look after it properly, servicing it approximately every 5,000 miles. BMW said the underside is virtually new whilst on a recall and so did my mechanic.

Since ownership it has also had new spark plugs, new coil packs, gearbox service, new brake pads all round and regular servicing/maintenance. Everything mechanically works as it should and the car drives extremely well.

The specification is excellent, including adaptive/radar cruise control, lane assist, head-up display, ambient lighting, puddle lights, heated/electric seats, electric convertible roof, parking sensors and the extensive equipment expected of a high-spec 640i. It is an SE rather than an M Sport, but it has a very high level of factory equipment.

The car has also had the resonators deleted, giving the N55 a much nicer, deeper sound and allowing you to hear the six-cylinder engine properly without making the car excessively loud or unpleasant on longer journeys. It sounds fantastic when you open it up while remaining comfortable for normal driving.

The bodywork is in very good condition for its age, although the aftermarket alloy wheels do have some kerbing and would benefit from refurbishment. The convertible roof has some cosmetic wear, including small areas/tears in the fabric, but it has never leaked and operates correctly. The tyres have plenty of tread and the rear tyres are virtually new.

This is a lovely, low-mileage, high-spec 640i with the desirable N55 engine, excellent history and a huge amount of equipment. It has been properly maintained rather than simply driven and neglected, and it presents a great opportunity for someone looking for a genuine six-cylinder BMW convertible.
