Description
After 6 years of ownership and much enjoyment, I have now decided to sell my precious 2018 T9 Peugeot 308 GTi 270 by Peugeot Sport.
Presented in Noir Perla Nera pearlescent black. The 308 GTi is a rare incredibly capable hot hatch as it is but what makes this particular example so unique and special is that it’s the world’s first and most powerful ‘Stage-3’ hybrid turbo’d 308 GTi.
It’s had the pleasure of having been featured and driven for a lap by famed and talented racing driver Misha Charoudin on his inspirational YouTube channel with a fast lap around the challenging Nürburgring (featuring pulling away from a G87 BMW M2!). Driven and loved by ‘racing driver Sam’ (from CarWow fame) on one of his ‘track battles’ on Max Haftavani’s Driven+ channel plus also featured on Luke Papworth’s YouTube channel – ‘Hampshire Photography’, which originally got the car a lot of interest and has also inspired hundreds of people to buy, own and modify one of these rare and exciting motorcars.
I can’t share links on Pistonheads but feel free to search up the below 3 videos on YouTube. This is a pretty well-known and famous car!…

Mods to the engine include:
‘Stage-3’ tuned and mapped by Pug1Off in Brackley with a custom Turbo Technics hybrid K04 BorgWarner turbo, Cooling Mist water/methanol inlet injection system (car will come including 25L of Methanol/water mix), Forge turbo blanket, custom turbo back lightweight 3” stainless steel exhaust system with wrapped downpipe and switchable valved rear back box by TEC (The Exhaust Company) in Thatcham, larger Forge front mounted Intercooler, Forge DV+ blowoff valve (sounds incredible), external Airtec front mounted oil cooler, Pug1Off 5.5mm high-lift fuel pump cam, GT Intake air induction kit with heat shields and cold air feed plus uprated performance NGK spark plugs. The all-important timing chain has preventatively just been changed at 54k miles as it’s recommended to be done at 60K miles. The above mods are all made reliable and safe with the inclusion of a full set of uprated ARP head and also ARP conrod bolts to the engine.
These cars come from factory with 268bhp and 330nm. This car now runs at 335bhp and 430nm at a safe 1.7bar of turbo boost pressure but the car can be remapped back up to a higher state of tune by the new owner by Matt at Pug1Off in Brackley (who are happy to do this complementary) to 368bhp and 487nm at 1.9bar. I have dyno graphs to showcase this car’s outputs (see pics).
Peugeot claim these cars only weigh 1205kg but in reality they’re more like 1305kg with all fluids! It’s still incredibly light for all this power and torque though compared to its competition. This makes for a greater bhp/ton than standard M2’s, M3’s, M4’s, RS3’s, Focus RS’s, Golf R’s and even TTRS’s! For less than ½ the money, it makes this car an absolute bargain that you need to consider snapping up right now, before somebody else does!
I personally feel that this motorcar has mind blowing performance, is safe, reliable, practical, super-economical when you want it to be (50+mpg on a long run!) and is also a lot of fun to own and drive. The community for these particular cars is also very friendly and helpful. I think it’s because we know these cars are understated and certainly a wolf (or lion!) in sheep’s clothing. If you want to have fun and (literally) fly under the radar, this is the car for you. And, being a manual, fun is what this car is all about! Once on a roll, it even feels quicker than my previously owned B9 Audi RS4 Avant! It’s that quick!
Drivetrain:
On top of the engine mods, i’ve also sensibly added an uprated Helix organic clutch to easily cope with the extra power and torque (the beauty is, it doesn’t feel overly heavy or ‘racecar’, it’s still a very ‘dailyable’ car), a complementing TTV lightened flywheel (which really makes a difference) along with an updated 3J limited slip differential (over the original Torsen LSD). To transfer all this power to the road, this car comes with a set of H and R lowering springs – lowering the car just 20mm all round for that perfect ‘OEM+’ stance look. The car rides superbly IMO. Very smooth and comfortable but still sporty with minimal body roll in the corners.
There is an option for the car to include a full set of BC Racing RM-MA adjustable coilovers. These are brand new and still in an unopened box. If the new owner doesn’t want them for an extra £1289, I can easily sell them separately to someone else. The car also has a high quality ‘stud and nut’ kit fitted so makes it super easy to switch between the two sets of different wheels and tyres that this car can come with…
Set 1: OEM 8x19” Carbone wheels with brand-new 235/35r19 Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres
Set 2: Aftermarket 8x18” super-lightweight (2kg per wheel lighter!) Braid ‘FullRace A’ semi-forged wheels fitted with Michelin’s excellent 235/35r18 Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect tyres (almost brand-new).
A negotiation can be made to include the Braid wheels and tyres + the BC Racing coilovers at an extra cost to the buyer.
STOP!...
These cars are well-known to stop VERY well as they come from factory with 380mm front discs and bright red 4-pot Alcon calipers. Mine are upgraded with the all-important Godspeed stainless steel caliper pistons, new floating front and also rear Godspeed brake discs, upgraded Motul 660 brake fluid, uprated stainless steel brake lines and the car comes with both fast road EBC Blue Stuff (Yellow Stuff rear) and also track-day focused CL RC6 brake pads. This car stops extremely well, summer or winter, road or track. Consistently. Everytime. I’ve never encountered any brake fade. Ever.
Further info:
The interior is in almost ‘as-new’ mint condition as has been very well career for with leather balm moisturiser. The only interior modification is a black BAF Motorsport K-Brace fitted in the boot between the two rear shock towers. The boot is still a very large, class-leading size. Apart from that, she’s as Peugeot intended which is a very nice place to be. No cracking or wear on the massage seats (yes, massage seats are standard on this Peugeot model). Red start/stop button. Apple CarPlay / Android Auto on the excellent touchscreen display as standard. The car is a facelift model but pre-OPF (within the Peugeot forums, it’s known to be the absolute ‘sweet-spot’ model age as doesn’t have any of the pre-facelift problems or issues - they’ve all been ironed out by Peugeot).
I personally didn’t want to add body kits, spoilers, canards, splitters or extra body mouldings to this car to weight it down so the exterior mods are limited to a tasteful body coloured shark-fin arial on the roof, wrapped black window surrounds (original is chrome), subtly rolled wheel arches and black Peugeot lion badges front and rear to complement the excellent for age Noir Perla Nera pearlescent black paint work. There are of course a few stone chip marks as one might expect. On the paint work, this has been professionally protected with a Titan Coatings 5-year ceramic coating by a professional detailer – TK Detailing in Basingstoke (09/09/2024) so when you do end up washing the car, it beads beautifully!
I’m the 3rd owner of this car and have owned it now for 6-years. It has only ever been run on 99-ron petrol or higher. Car is sitting on 56k miles (I bought it at 16K miles) but goes up as I do like to use it daily (averages around 6800 miles per year). Full Peugeot main dealer and specialist independent service history. Oil service twice per year. Gearbox oil and spark plugs annually. Relatively new Varta 12v battery. Regas on the aircon system just undertaken - she feels fresh in this hot weather! HPI clear. No finance on the car. No pets. 2 sets or mats (sporty and as-new OEM) plus a rubber boot liner protector. Car originally registered in February 2018. MOT until February 2027. The private number plate can stay with the car – GT13 OBT – GTi 308 T – T stands for Turbo! 😊.
I have invested over £45,000 into this much loved motorcar (including the original purchase price of the vehicle at 2.5 years old) so grab yourself a bargain with this manual GTi which will inevitably go up in value in due course when electric vehicles take over the world!!!
Of course it’s hard pricing a car of such rarity, quality and extensive but well chosen modifications. I’ve researched on what other low-mileage facelift cars are selling for (all of them without the modifications that this car has undergone) and have asked the experts on the 308 GTi forums what they feel this car is worth and people are concluding £16,250 - 17,000 range is a very fair price. However, I’m a fair and reasonable man and so will consider sensible offers hence the asking price of £15,995.
