**2006 MINI Cooper S John Cooper Works GP (GP1) – One Owner From New**

I purchased the car brand new in 2006 and have owned it ever since.

It has covered approximately **99,000 miles** and comes with an extensive service and maintenance history, supported by invoices, receipts, MOT records and other documentation accumulated over nearly 20 years.

Recent history includes an **Inspection II service in October 2025**, together with a **new battery**, followed by a **vehicle health check in May 2026**.

One important part of the car’s history relates to an engine misfire which first developed in 2014. The fault proved very difficult to diagnose and took approximately two and a half years to fully resolve. During that period I spent more than **£6,500** on investigation, replacement components and engine work.

The eventual repair involved removal and skimming of the cylinder head, fitting **16 new valve springs**, together with a new head gasket. This work successfully resolved the misfire, and the supporting documentation is retained.

More recently, I carefully investigated and successfully cured a tailgate water-ingress issue. The work included replacement of the boot gasket, cleaning and treating the battery compartment and affected areas around the boot aperture, renewing the number-plate fixing inserts, and checking and sealing the relevant tailgate fixing points.

I have now organised the car’s history into a comprehensive portfolio containing purchase information, service history, MOT records, maintenance and repair documentation, invoices and receipts.

This is a genuine **one-owner-from-new GP1** with a long and well-documented history.
