First registered in the UK on 11/05/1972, this desirable Mk1 Escort Mexico has been with our vendor for approximately 16 months and used sparingly during his ownership

Accompanied by a detailed history file containing numerous invoices relating to an earlier restoration, which appears to have been carried out from around 2014 onwards

In April 2026, the engine was removed and all oil seals and gaskets were replaced, with a new clutch fitted at the same time. The starter motor has also been reconditioned

Our vendor reports that the engine is responsive, and indicates oil pressure in the 70–80 range when hot. He recently completed a 127-mile round trip in the car without issue, stopping only for fuel

The front seats have very recently been fully refurbished, including shot-blasting and powder-coating the seat frames and fitting new seat covers, which remain beneath their protective plastic coverings

Showing seven former registered keepers, our vendor estimates that approximately £4,000 has been invested in the Mexico during his 16-month ownership, in addition to the expenditure represented within the detailed history file
