Description

-Restored in the early 2000s having covered a mere 5,450 miles since -Many bills and photographs on file -Original UK supplied example A highly desirable early 3.8-litre E-Type, this 1964 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 was originally supplied new to the UK through Henleys Limited of London, with its date of dispatch recorded as 20th July 1964. Its accompanying Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirms the car was originally finished in Opalescent Dark Blue with a Light Blue interior. Today, the car presents in an attractive red exterior with a contrasting beige interior trim, following previous restoration work. The E-Type has benefited from considerable attention throughout its life, with a substantial history of maintenance, servicing and restoration supported by a sizeable collection of bills and invoices. Most notably, the body and engine restoration work which was undertaken in the early 2000s and has only covered circa 6,000 miles since. The bodywork was treated to a full preparation and repaint in its current red coachwork, together with a retrim of the interior. A selection of photographs documenting the body restoration is included within the history file. In more recent years, the Jaguar has formed part of a significant private collection, where it has been used occasionally and, importantly, kept in dry storage. It has enjoyed the care and attention one would expect of a collector owned E-Type, while retaining a substantial record of its past work. The accompanying history file is sizeable and includes numerous bills and invoices, receipts relating to the engine rebuild and restoration, photographic records of the body restoration, the aforementioned Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirming its original specification, and its current UK registration document. Having enjoyed six former keepers from new, the most recent owner acquired the car some ten years ago and has kept it within his private collection throughout that period. An iconic British sports car and one of the most recognisable designs of the 1960s, this Series 1 3.8-litre E-Type is offered with an appealing combination of early specification, substantial restoration history, supporting documentation and long term private collection ownership. The full history file and more pictures can be sent by email on request - please contact a member of our team for details. This vehicle can be viewed in West Sussex. Viewing by appointment only.
