1969 ASTON MARTIN DB6

First unveiled at the 1965 London Motor Show, the Aston Martin DB6 Volante was the first convertible to carry the iconic 'Volante' name. Built on the longer DB6 chassis from late 1966, it combined elegant four-seat touring with luxurious appointments including leather upholstery, deep-pile carpets, an aircraft-style instrument cluster and an electrically operated hood. Production ended in 1970 with just 178 DB6 Volantes built, of which only 140 were Mark 1 examples, making them one of the rarest and most desirable classic Aston Martins. Today, the DB6 Volante is widely regarded as one of the marque's most collectible models.

This exceptional example is the sixth from last Mark 1 DB6 Volante built and was supplied new by H.R. Owen on 10th October 1969 to French Connection founder Steven Marks, who retained the car for over 45 years. Originally finished in the unique Amethyst colour, it was later refinished in Black and is complemented by a black leather interior. Factory specified with Borg Warner automatic transmission, power-assisted steering, chrome road wheels, three-ear hubcaps, power aerial and matching tonneau cover, the car underwent a comprehensive body-off restoration in 2018 by renowned Aston Martin specialist Nicholas Mee, with engine and gearbox work completed by Ian Mason of Aston Martin Services. This outstanding DB6 Volante represents a true collector-grade example, ready to be enjoyed or cherished.
