Description
2002 MASERATI 4200 COUPÉ CAMBIOCORSA — GRIGIO TOURING / ROSSO CORALLO LEATHER
A properly sorted, enthusiast-owned 4200 Coupé in the gorgeous Grigio Touring Metallic over full red (Rosso Corallo) leather — one of the best colour combinations these came in. Ferrari-built 4.2 V8, Cambiocorsa paddle-shift, and a spine-tingling soundtrack courtesy of a Larini back box. This is no tired project: real money and care have gone into getting it driving exactly as it should, backed by a fresh MOT and a recent major service.
THE CAR Launched in 2001 and styled by Giugiaro, the 4200 Coupé pairs a normally aspirated Ferrari/Maserati 4.2-litre V8 (390bhp) with proper grand-touring manners. This is the four-seat Coupé — lighter and longer in the wheelbase than the Spyder, and the driver's pick — with the F1-derived Cambiocorsa semi-automatic gearbox and column paddles.

CONDITION
Presents beautifully. The Grigio Touring paint has lovely depth, the refurbished wheels look superb in Shadow Grey on fresh P Zeros, and the red leather cabin is an event in itself — firm, supportive seats alongside the iconic Maserati clock, analogue dials and Cambiocorsa paddles.
IN THE INTEREST OF FULL TRANSPARENCY, BAD BITS
- The headlining has just recently dropped (a few days ago, haven't had a chance to get it fixed or investigate costs yet) and will need re-trimming.
- An interim oil-and-filter service will be due shortly (routine; the major's just been done)
- one of the side skirts has a small crack in it (pictured)
- there is a tiny piece of rust on the rear bootlid, one door and a rear arch (all pictured and tiny)
WHY THIS ONE
These are thoroughbred Italian V8s for used-hatchback money, and the only real trap is buying a neglected example that turns into a money pit. This is the opposite: the costly jobs are behind it, it's been tastefully enhanced and properly used by an owner who cared, and the paperwork backs it up. With these cars you buy on condition and history — this one delivers on both.
