The Fabia vRS tore up the hot hatch rulebook by dropping a punchy, torque rich, diesel engine into a compact chassis. These cars quickly became a firm favourite with enthusiasts & tuners alike due to the tunability of these robust engines.
Finding an unmodified, low mileage survivor is incredibly difficult today, but finding one in this condition is almost impossible.
History
The history of this Fabia vRS is second to none. Originally sold by Merrits Skoda of Aylesbury in October 2004, this VRS has been in the care of just a single owner from new.
It has clearly been preserved as a cherished asset rather than simply used as a daily driver.
Having been garaged it’s whole life there is none of the usual paint fade or lacquer peel that is common on these cars.
Opening the history folder is a nostalgic experience in itself. It retains the complete original book pack, all the factory supplied booklets, & in a brilliant touch of authenticity the original business card of the sales executive who handed over the keys.

Body & Paintwork
Red paintwork of this era is notorious for fading when left out in the elements, but thanks to a life of careful, dry storage, this Fabia remains exceptionally vibrant.
To ensure it looks its absolute best for the showroom, the car has just been fully detailed & machine polished. The result is a deep, glossy finish that perfectly highlights the chunky styling of the Mk1 vRS.
All original badges, glass & trims are in fantastic order, & the factory alloy wheels present beautifully.
Interior & Trim
Opening the door reveals an interior that is every bit as impressive as the exterior. The original vRS cloth seats remain beautifully preserved with minimal signs of use.
The dashboard, switchgear, steering wheel, gear knob & controls all present as you would expect given the car’s incredibly low mileage. Even close inspection reveals very little to criticise, with the cabin retaining the feel & appearance of a nearly new vehicle.
The rear seats still display the showroom display pieces; it is understood that the rear seats have never been used.
Everything works exactly as it should do.
Engine
At the heart of the Fabia vRS’s cult status is the legendary 1.9-litre TDI PD130 engine.
While other hot hatches chased high-revving petrol horsepower, the Fabia delivered a wave of visceral, effortless torque that made it devastatingly quick in the real world.
Because this example has covered just 10,722 miles, the engine has barely been ran in.
It is completely standard & free from any modifications that so many of these cars were subjected to.
The engine bay itself is incredibly clean as can be seen from the pictures & the engine starts instantly, idles smoothly & performs faultlessly.
We have carried out a full major service including cambelt as part of our sales preparation, so this great hot hatch is ready to be enjoyed.
Running Gear
Out on the road the Fabia feels impressively tight & composed. The steering remains precise; the gear change is positive & the suspension performs exactly as intended.
All running gear is in great condition; the pictures show the exceptional original underside condition as you would hope of a low mileage car.
Original tyres remain fitted on the car, we would of course advise replacement of these if the new owner intends touse the car.
