Description
First registered on the 17th of November 1965 this truly exceptional Series One Jaguar E type 4.2 roadster was purchased by the present owner in 2014 from E-type UK. It was re-patriated by them from the USA in need considerable refurbishment and was subsequently completely restored by them to a very high standard to the current owner's specification. This included a 5 speed gearbox with a high top gear for continental touring, uprated cooling system, 123 ignition, Gas Shock absorbers, uprated front brake calipers, a thicker front anti-roll bar for improved cornering and Poly-bushed suspension throughout. More recently in 2019, the engine was rebuilt by Tom Barclay Racing, (view his website) who has years of experience with Jaguar cars, initially learned for his father Marcus Barclay. Finished in one of the most desirable colour schemes of Opalescent Silver blue with dark blue hide and a dark blue mohair hood, the car has formed part of a small eclectic collection of bucket list motor cars including an Aston Martin Zagato Shooting Brake and previously a very successful Aston Martin DB4 Lightweight race car. Since purchasing this car some 12 years ago it has been used and enjoyed for continental trips around Europe and circa 10,000 miles have been notched up by the present owner. If you are looking for one of the very best 4.2 E type Roadsters currently available, the car is currently with us and can be viewed by prior appointment, when I believe the first to see and drive this lovely example will become the new owner. Not expensive for one in this condition as can be seen from the collection of pictures below. £115,000
