I am slightly obsessed with cars, especially VAG group products, which probably explains why I still have no idea how a 3.0 V6 Ranger Raptor ended up stealing my attention. Every vehicle is personally selected and prepared as if I was buying it myself. Some vehicles are bought because they make sense. The Ranger Raptor was built because Ford engineers clearly decided that making school runs and tip runs boring was unacceptable. Powered by the 3.0 litre twin turbo EcoBoost V6 and paired with the 10 speed automatic gearbox, this is the Ranger for people who look at normal pickups and think they need a little more chaos in their lives. With 292PS, permanent four wheel drive and the full Raptor treatment, it has enough performance to embarrass plenty of hot hatches while carrying half a house in the back. Visually, the wide stance, aggressive arches and unmistakable FORD grille give it serious presence. It looks like it belongs in the mountains, on a construction site or parked outside a country pub on a Sunday afternoon. You could buy a luxury SUV, but where is the fun in that when you can have something that jumps kerbs, swallows motorways and still turns heads everywhere it goes. Good Raptor examples rarely hang around for long, especially with the sought after V6 petrol engine. If you have been waiting for the right one, this is definitely worth a closer look.
