1999 LOTUS ELISE

I’ve owned several Elise S1’s during the last three decades - but none of them have been as iconic as this Mustard Yellow 111S with its green seats and soft top. Being completely honest I never thought I’d sell this one but I’ve recently had my head turned by something with twice as many cylinders!

The 111S is widely regarded as the sweet spot in the S1 line up - the VVC engine, close ratio gearbox, rear spoiler, enhanced seats, wider wheels and several other improvements made it arguably the overall ultimate S1 package to leave Hethel. The Sport 160 that followed it, characterful as it is, sadly lacks the gear ratios needed to really make the Elise dance.

I’ve been meticulously refreshing, restoring and optimising Elises for several years now. All of them have had my full attention - this one is no exception and as a result is a very well sorted car. It’s had several thousand spent on it in the last few years.

Presented in Mustard Yellow Pearlescent paint, which replaced the original Norfolk Mustard colour in 1999, It has a full service history with 24 service stamps, and a frankly massive history file (3” thick full of invoices, all MOT certs, Certificate of Conformity, even the original purchase invoice). Both keys and the full book pack are present.

The engine is unmodified, but it has the proper multi-layer head gasket, as the original was replaced . Original 111S seats (refreshed by Allon White - see below).

This is absolutely one of those “go find another one” cars - I hunted high and low for many years before I finally found a 111S in this colour combination, in great condition, with a huge history file and sensible, appropriate upgrades / resto work done during its life, by excellent specialists and meticulous owners. They basically never come up for sale.
